A highly regarded troupe of performers, the performance ensemble consists of approximately 30 exceptional young women who are bound together by a common love of the art of dance. Chosen for the group within the studio based on their talent, passion, dedication and potential, ensemble members opt to put their dance training in overdrive by participating in numerous dance classes and Sunday night rehearsals throughout the year.
In only its 3rd year, the group has grown and the academy looks to these dancers to set the precedent for all others to follow. The production of “Lion King” got the group growling and the group wowed us with poodle skirts, hot rods, and high hair a its 2nd year with Hairspray. Last year, the group went “Peeking in China” as they blended the traditional Asian culture with upbeat and toe-tapping visions of the Far East. This year our seniors will take their “Last Wind Up” in this year’s production. The group will take us where batteries are not included into a toy shop of strings, swings, and other toy things.
The 2009-10 dance season brings a new flavor and a new enthusiasm to the performers. Trips to New York City and Philadelphia for classes and possible performances are again planned. The group will look to “up the ante” and will look to attend a dance convention in Atlantic City and perform on a cruise ship in the spring.
It is an exciting time at Jane Baron’s Academy of Dance and this group is leading the way! |
